Cat Karen backpedals on a $500 finder's fee for the kind people who saved her lost cat, refusing to pay for necessary veterinary bills they covered in her absence: 'We spent $400'

Cats are hypnotizingly cute. It's just a fact. So when this cat-loving couple found a sad, lost kitty on the streets in December, they quickly brought her inside to show her some TLC. After posting on some forums, scouring local websites, and studying street corner electrical poles to find the real owner, it was 2 weeks later that someone finally posted a 'Lost Pet' ad, including a $500 reward for the return of their feline. A little late to be posting that, don't you think?

By that point, these cat-loving rescuers had already paid for necessary kitty vet bills, attached themselves to the feline emotionally, and prepped their house for the cat's new life. But that nagging conscience pushed them to reach out to the real owner, only to regret it instantly. Once the kind cat rescuers met the Cat Karen in real life, they realized that she may have never had any intentions of caring for the cat they'd grown so fond of, and upon returning the kitty to its original owner, immediately regretted contacting such an entitled pet owner.

  • Pets are not for everyone. It's a living creature that you bring inside your house, take responsibility for, and care for unconditionally. If all of that sounds too tough for you, DON'T GET A PET. Cats are a fairly simple animal for even the most mediocre animal lovers. They're independent, they're smart, and they'll mostly take care of themselves without much of a fuss–except when someone needs to open up a can of wet food. 

  • But the worst type of pet owners aren't just the incompetent kind, but the incompetent kind who thinks they're doing an amaaaazing job with pet ownership. Like the Karen in this next story, these people are totally delusional, imagining they're the ‘best pet parent in town,' when, in reality, they're providing an independent creature with the bare minimum before setting it loose and unprotected outside.     Carebear1331 NTA. Who brings an unsecured cat to a strangers door? You were kind to take care of the stray, awesome to give her back after spending so much on her.
